Microsoft Edge announces privacy-focused ads API with enhancements over Google Chrome's PA API

Microsoft Edge is launching a privacy-preserving ads API designed to improve upon Google Chrome's Privacy Sandbox APIs.

Key differences include the exclusive use of Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) without an on-device component, support for multi-size and multi-slot auctions, and the ability to update ad creatives dynamically.

Edge's approach, aimed at reducing latency and expanding platform support beyond Google and Amazon, is mainly compatible with existing Privacy Sandbox APIs, facilitating adoption by the ad tech industry. [post] (Paul Bannister)
