Branded Search Local Services Ads for Law Firms

Google is nearing the completion of its testing phase for branded search Local Services Ads, explicitly targeting law firms. These ads will appear for a firm's brand name in search results and incur charges per call received.

There's no option to opt out, but Google Ads liaison has confirmed that this feature will be available once the update is fully implemented. Law firms are advised to disable this feature temporarily until further details are disclosed and the potential impacts are assessed. More information is expected to be released next week.
